Library adds digital services and hands-on classes after year of growth

At the Community Services Commission meeting, Britney Ritchie outlined expansions beyond events: the library added Comics Plus for unlimited graphic-novel access and Mango Languages offering about 70 world languages for self-paced learning. She said the technology resource center was also opened to support computer basics classes.
Ritchie also described new hands-on offerings: the library purchased five sewing machines and received five more through an "Empowering Pro Access" grant to run introductory quilting and skill-building classes over the summer. "We purchased 5 sewing machines, and we launched it into intro to quilting," she said. The programs are intended to build skills and broaden the library’s role beyond traditional reading programs.
