Library reports rebound in programs and attendance in 2025–26

Britney Ritchie, senior librarian of community engagement, presented the library’s 2025–26 year-in-review, telling the commission the library rebuilt and expanded programming after pandemic disruptions. She said seasonal highlights included Wild Wonders and a walkthrough exhibit with combined attendance "over 600," a return of story time that drew "over 900 attendants in this room," and a fall trick-or-treat program that attracted about 500 people.
Ritchie outlined staffing and program growth: three librarians were onboarded in the fall and a fourth in January; the library purchased five sewing machines and later received five more through an "Empowering Pro Access" grant; and the Ready, Set, Go kinder-launch program ran six sessions and had "over 200 attendants." She also described additions to the library’s collections and services, noting the launch of Comics Plus and Mango Languages as new digital resources for patrons. "We rebuilt and expanded programming. We added additional resources," she told commissioners.
