Hampton City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda, which the clerk described as "routine, noncontroversial items requiring council approval." The packet approved participation in proposed opioid-related settlements; authorized construction management contracting for sanitary sewer force‑main replacement work; approved fiscal-year contract amendments for the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board; and amended budgets to add roughly $300,000 in additional state funding to the 2025 school operating budget and approximately $5,000,000 in federal and state funds to the 2026 school operating budget.
The clerk read the consent items and the motion to adopt passed on a voice vote with all members recorded as "aye." The consent approval also included routine minutes and contract approvals. Council did not discuss the items individually during the meeting. "The consent agenda consists of routine, noncontroversial items requiring council approval," the clerk said when reading the agenda items.
