Barbara Warner, chair of the County Employees Representative Committee (CERC), addressed the commission on behalf of county employees and thanked the board for continuing communication during a difficult budget year. "On behalf of county employees, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the board," she said, and asked that the FY26 budget include both step increases and a cost-of-living adjustment.
Warner noted encouraging progress in communication among human resources, the county administrator's office and the board and said county employees deeply appreciate leadership that listens to concerns, particularly regarding proposed changes to chapter 86. Her comments were framed as a request during the public hearing process ahead of the June adoption vote.
