Resident urges review after Mission Hills mass grading; describes neighbor impacts

At the Development Services Committee meeting on May 5, resident Bob Duckworth recounted the effects of mass grading at the Mission Hills development and urged the committee to investigate the project's approvals and plans.
"I have seen the mass grading on that that was done in May '25," Duckworth said, noting many of the neighbors affected are longtime acquaintances. He said he was "hoping" the committee would use the review to identify what could have been done differently and to avoid similar outcomes in the future.
Duckworth told the committee he had been involved from early stages through the plan commission and asked the city to share and review revised mass-grading plans to assess slopes and potential impacts on adjacent properties. "I'm looking forward to seeing the mass grading the revised mass grading plans to see, what that, slope is gonna go from to," he said.
The committee heard the testimony during the public-comment portion and asked staff to incorporate neighborhood concerns into their scoping work on grading provisions.
