Mayor's Leadership Council students plan March 28 service event to raise funds for local charities

"We are currently working on a service project that is going to take place on March 28th next year," Connor said, and described plans to develop a sponsor packet and brochure to solicit business partners to support the event. The students said the initiative would benefit Helping Hands of Goose Creek and a local orphan charity and that they would return to the council with more information.
The presentation was framed as part of the council's youth-engagement work; the students also summarized recent panels and a public-works site visit they attended. City staff said they would circulate more details to council and the public as the March date approaches.
