Library staff highlights strong summer reading turnout and new events

Dana updated the council on library operations and programs, reporting strong turnout for summer reading and several upcoming events. "Summer reading has been going really great," she said, and told councilors the summer reading program will wrap up on July 29, with a possible small school-supply giveaway that day. Dana said a "library love" book drive is set for July 15 to replenish giveaway prizes and that a teen advisory book club will meet August 15.
Dana also described program scheduling changes (children’s music and movement moved to Saturdays), a July 26 financial-literacy program series culminating in an Aug. 26 session on budgeting, and active hiring for one open position; she said applications are routed through a regional office. The council asked no formal action on the library items beyond thanks and brief discussion.
