City staff presented evidence that 5125 Presidio Drive has suffered long‑term neglect and structural deterioration since becoming vacant in 2019, including damaged siding, roof problems, unsecured doors and collapsing walls. Exterior photos taken April 22, 2026, were used to document ongoing deterioration and unsecured access.
Staff recommended the board declare the house a substandard structure, require that the owner allow city staff access by May 26, 2026, and secure the property by April 27, 2026. If not repaired or demolished by the stated deadlines, staff recommended civil penalties beginning May 27, 2026, at $100 per day until the condition is corrected. The board voted unanimously to proceed with staff recommendations.
No members of the public spoke in opposition at the hearing for this item; board members moved to accept the staff recommendation without amendment.
