The City of Hays council on May 12 read a resolution formally canvassing the May 3, 2025 general election results for council positions and directed that the tabulations certified by the Hays County election division be filed in the city records and forwarded to the secretary of state within the statutory period.
"So this is a resolution of the city of Hayes, Texas canvassing the election results in the general election held for the city," the presiding officer said while reading the resolution. Councilmember S7 moved to approve the resolution and Cynthia McCall seconded; the presiding officer called for the vote and the motion passed. The resolution text included the official vote totals as presented to the council and instructions for the city secretary to prepare certificates of election.
