City hears update on Country Lane well; contractor delays may push completion past May 10 target

City staff provided a technical update on work at Country Lane (well No. 3), saying the remaining scope includes electrical controls and wiring, upgraded controls at the Tankwood Pump Station, about 40–50 feet of pipeline, electrical conduit, a support frame and a small shed to house electrical equipment, plus a separate fence contractor.
"The outstanding items are primarily electrical controls, for the well operate the, well pump and motor, and additional, like, control and wiring to the circuit breaker on the electric power meter and also upgrading the controls, at the Tankwood Pump Station," the city’s on-record speaker said. He added that parts and components were on order but that the contractor had a schedule delay; staff said they would relay council’s expectation to the contractor and try to "build a little fire" to move work forward. Council noted the city reported in federal paperwork that it had obligated $66,000 to the well project and that the filing listed May 10 as an expected completion date.
The council asked clarifying questions about which equipment remained to be installed and whether the fence work was on a separate contract. Staff said the fence is a separate contractor and confirmed they will follow up with the contractor about the schedule. The city did not provide a revised firm completion date on the record.
