Calvert County's Department of Human Resources introduced the inaugural Leadership Academy graduates and presented certificates to 21 employees who completed a six-session supervisory training series.
Lisa Vivaret, a human resources analyst, said the program was developed with the College of Southern Maryland and covered topics including emotional intelligence, conflict management and inclusive leadership. "We are proud to report that 21 employees successfully completed the program earning certificates and 30 CEUs," Vivaret said. Melanie Woodson, human resources director, thanked participants and the college for partnering on the curriculum.
The board recognized multiple county employees from finance, public safety, parks and other departments; completion of the Leadership Academy was described as a prerequisite for some future local, state, or national leadership development opportunities.
