At Grand Prairie's second city council meeting in May, the clerk administered the oath and swore in two incumbents after they retained their seats in the May 2 general election. "Do solemnly swear or affirm," the clerk said as the swearing-in ceremony began.
Georgia Clemson, representing District 1, and Bessie Adams, in Place 7 at-large, were sworn in and "will each serve new 3 year terms," the clerk said. The swearing followed the certification of election results for those seats.
