Tourism officials told the council they have finalized contracts and logistics to operate Epic Central as an official watch-party site for the FIFA World Cup and will show most matches (with some late-start matches excluded). Staff said they are coordinating language options with partners so Spanish broadcasts will be available for many Mexico matches and that an alternate-language portal will be available for viewers.
"I'm Carrie Develis. I'm the director of tourism and culture," the presenter said as she outlined watch-party plans, media outreach and two web portals (visitgrandprairie.com and epiccentral.com) for business and visitor information. Staff said watch-party programming is intended both to serve residents and to attract national media attention to Grand Prairie's proximity to AT&T Stadium.
Staff also summarized marketing metrics, saying the city's campaign produced more than 3,000,000 impressions and nearly 200,000 clicks to the city's site; Expedia bookings tied to the campaign generated roughly $240,000 in revenue in the early campaign window. Officials encouraged businesses to consult the city portals for watch-party schedules, lodging information and permit guidelines.
