Ram Pande said he and others "are worried" after getting the mailing and asked what would happen to their investment if the business were affected. Staff responded that the mailings are required by the state because staff cannot inventory every retail location and that the notices do not indicate imminent enforcement action. "We mailed it. The reason we have to do it and the state requires that any store that may become nonconforming..." a staff speaker said. Officials told attendees the simplest next step is to come to the planning office on 800 Main Street for individualized guidance prior to the June 2 City Council hearing.
