At the start of the meeting the board unanimously approved the previous meeting's minutes after a motion by Mr. Parrish and a second by Ms. Odom. The Chair announced the motion carried.
Staff said immediate action items for the Spring Creek remediation include clearing trail blockages by city crews on foot and developing chipping and mulching specifications to support procurement. Parks staff also said they will circulate the forest impact analysis to stakeholders and work with Dallas County and preservation society partners on access and signage.
On scheduling, Keith Ragan said the city's proposed budget will come earlier this year and that the parks board should expect material in early July, with city council budget actions planned in August; the board discussed whether to hold a July meeting to deliberate the packet. Staff also reported Dallas County approved the wildscape naming at Spring Creek Forest and said that will move forward to installation.
