Kalkaska County finance committee approves most budget amendments with several adjustments

The Finance Committee approved Budget Amendments 45 and 47–62 (excluding #46) with changes to amendments 52, 55, 56 and 60, by consensus on a motion from Chair Jeff Sieting. County Administrator Patrick Whiteford had presented the amendment requests and operational suggestions.
The Kalkaska County Finance Committee voted by consensus on Nov. 11, 2025, to approve Budget Amendments 45 and 47 through 62, excluding amendment #46, with agreed changes to amendments 52, 55, 56 and 60. Chair Jeff Sieting made the motion and no opposition was recorded.
County Administrator and CFO Patrick Whiteford presented the package and explained the list of amendment requests. Whiteford also recommended limiting department heads’ access to accounts payable as a measure to reduce the frequency of budget amendments by improving on-the-ground budget monitoring. The committee reviewed bills, reports and the amendments before approving them.
