The Windsor Locks Board of Education moved into executive session during its Feb. 3 special meeting to conduct a student expulsion hearing and to preserve the confidentiality of student records. The motion to enter executive session was moved by Greg Guyette, seconded by Alba Osorio, and recorded as passed unanimously.
Chairwoman Kylee Christianson asked attendees to identify themselves for the record; the minutes list Superintendent Shawn Parkhurst, Principal Dr. Rebecca Bissonnette, Assistant Principal Kirsten Krupa and Recording Secretary Denise M. Piotrowicz among those participating. Witnesses who were to testify on behalf of the administration and the student's family were sworn in before testimony began. The minutes record that testimony on the offense and penalty phases was provided by administrators, the student, the guardian and the mother, and by other witnesses; the minutes do not provide verbatim testimony or detail the specific allegations.
