Staff informed the board that the Federation of Teachers had ratified a tentative agreement that includes a 3% total compensation increase and other negotiated terms. Staff asked the board to approve the agreement and the board voted to approve the motion after trustees moved and seconded it.
Staff also presented the district’s annual declaration of need for fully qualified educators, explaining the district will use emergency permits and internship permits where active recruitment has not produced fully credentialed candidates. "The district will fill these open positions using emergency permits for internships," the presenter said. Trustees approved both the tentative agreement and the declaration of need.
