County Clerk flags record restoration and higher election costs in 2026 budget

County Clerk Deborah Hill presented the Clerk's office budget at the Nov. 6 workshop, outlining a capital outlay request and the need for record restoration work. Hill noted the County Public Library (CPL) fund balance might be considered to help cover some needs and also reviewed requested salary changes and a five-year staffing plan.
Administrator/CFO Patrick Whiteford told the board to expect higher election-related expenses for 2026 due to a statewide election and said he would make budget adjustments. The Clerk's discussion also covered a Jury Board budget and other election operational items that will be reconciled in updated figures.
