The Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners held a workshop on Nov. 6, 2025, to continue preparations for the 2026 county budget. Chair Kohn Fisher called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM; County Administrator/CFO Patrick Whiteford led department-by-department reviews and said he would provide updated budget figures after corrections and clarifications.
Whiteford flagged several items that require adjustment, including a Dispatch line item that changed from $2,500.00 to $3,500.00 and increased election expenses tied to a statewide 2026 election. The board agreed to table the Administration/Board of Commissioners budget for a final review at a follow-up workshop scheduled for Nov. 13, 2025, at 5:00 PM.
