The board approved a department-specific incentive pay policy that adds a $25 shift incentive for nonunion dispatchers and jailers when they pick up or are ordered into a shift with less than 48 hours' notice. County staff said the change targets overtime management after a period of elevated overtime costs.
During discussion supervisors asked for a breakdown of which divisions produced overtime; staff invited supervisors to a December Public Safety Committee meeting to review division-level overtime data and how the policy might affect budgets. The resolution passed by voice vote.
