Matt Rector, Hutto’s city engineer filling in as interim development services director, told the commission that the city has extended an offer that was accepted for the development services director position. “So, his name is Howard Kuntz, and he has worked in multiple cities,” Rector said, listing prior roles and noting Kuntz’s experience as a development services director in other Texas cities.
Commissioners then discussed a schedule of special‑called meetings to address the capital improvement program (CIP) in focused work sessions. Staff proposed weekly Tuesday meetings through February, with the Jan. 20 joint Parks and P&Z meeting set for a 6:30 p.m. start and most other special meetings slated for 7:00 p.m. Commissioners asked staff to provide a schedule and to consider combining light CIP items onto an upcoming regular meeting if agendas allow.
