Georgia Clemson and Bessie Adams sworn in; District 3 runoff set for June 13

Georgia Clemson, who represents District 1, and Bessie Adams, Place 7 at-large, were sworn in during Grand Prairie’s second city council meeting in May and will serve new three-year terms after retaining their seats in the May 2 general election.
The clerk administered the oath, saying, "You solemnly swear or affirm," and the officials completed the oath that included the pledge "I will faithfully execute the duties." The swearing-in followed certification of the May 2 results announced at the meeting.
No winner was determined for District 3 at the meeting; the council noted a runoff between David Chappell and Amber Timberlake is scheduled for Saturday, June 13. Early voting for the runoff will take place June 1–9 at Lorenzo de Zavala Academy on Kirby Creek Drive.
