County approves FY2026 CSBG contracts to fund housing, transportation, meals and domestic‑violence services

The board approved federal FY2026 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) contracts and an access agreement for the Department of Health’s Empower case‑management software.
Christina Marshall explained the Wyoming Department of Health allocated $245,132.16 to Sweetwater County for the FY2026 term (10/01/2025–09/30/2026) as part of a previously approved four‑year $1,008,099 award. The county will pass funds to local agencies—Rock Springs Young at Heart (homemaker and meals), STAR Transit (transportation assistance through bus passes), Sweetwater Family Resource Center (emergency rent, deposits and utilities for eviction prevention) and the YWCA of Sweetwater County (childcare services and rent/deposit support for victims of domestic violence). Marshall said housing priorities would receive 46% of the allocation, support services 24%, and health/social behavioral development 23%.
The tripartite board also set aside $15,000 for unanticipated needs and established reporting and case management via the Empower software paid by the department of health. Commissioners approved the contracts and access agreement and authorized the chairman to sign.
