County awards FY2026 crack-seal contract for northern roads — ~$82,805

The commission awarded the fiscal year 2026 crack-sealant project to R and D Sweeping and Asphalt Maintenance LC for $82,805.40 to preserve pavement primarily on roads north of Rock Springs.
"This is all pretty much out North of Rock Springs... what this does is preserve the pavement and allow it to last a little bit longer," said Gene Legurski, director of public works, who presented the bid results and the recommendation to award to the low responsive bidder. Legurski told commissioners the work will cover roughly 5–6 miles on specified segments and preserve roads paved in the last three to five years.
The board voted to award the contract and authorized the chairman to sign necessary project documents.
Why it matters: crack sealing is a low-cost preventive maintenance step that extends pavement life and reduces long-term repair costs for county roadways.
What’s next: Public Works will execute the contract and schedule work on identified stretches north of Rock Springs.
