Board backs County Road Commission recommendation to use Studio Intrigue for project review

Kalkaska County commissioners on Dec. 17 voted to move forward with the County Road Commission’s recommendation to use Studio Intrigue to review a previous road project, with the county action contingent on the County Road Commission approving the agreement and associated costs.
Commissioner Robert Baldwin said the Board of Commissioners needs to initiate the project but the County Road Commission will approve the agreement and costs; the motion passed on a roll call vote. Baldwin and others reminded commissioners David Persons and David Comai to attend County Road meetings as board liaisons for the review effort.
The minutes record the board’s support for the vendor recommendation while preserving the County Road Commission’s authority to accept the contract and cost terms.
