Chair rebukes offensive public remarks; supervisor asks counsel to review meeting safety and decorum

A supervisor later asked that "our counsel take a look at what we can do to make sure that we don't have ... individuals being called out" and to consider steps to maintain a safe environment while not unduly infringing First Amendment rights.
The board did not take disciplinary action at the meeting; members thanked staff for their service and emphasized the need to balance open public comment with civility and safety. The supervisor's request directed staff to consult with county counsel about possible approaches for future meetings.
