Kalkaska County approves telework, raises and COA director pay increase

The Kalkaska County Board approved several personnel measures at its Dec. 17 meeting including telework arrangements, a non-union pay increase, and a salary adjustment for the Commission on Aging director.
A motion allowed the Equalization Director Daniels to work from home two days per week for the 2026 fiscal year (or until a formal policy is developed), under the direction of the County Administrator. The board also approved a $1.00/hour raise for non-union staff effective Jan. 1, 2026; the raise explicitly excludes the Kaliseum Director, elected officials and the COA Director. Separately, the board set the COA Director salary at $65,681 annually effective Jan. 1, 2026, up from $62,264, based on comparable counties.
