Marshall County signs 28E agreement with Marion County to join Healthy Hometowns cancer prevention program

Public Health Director Sydney Grewell presented a 28E agreement to participate in Marion County’s Healthy Hometowns Project and the Board approved the agreement 3-0. Grewell said Marion County received grant funding from the State of Iowa to extend resources and training to participating counties for initiatives including lung, colorectal and skin cancer prevention and radon awareness.
Grewell described available resources for Marshall County residents, including free radon test kits, telehealth tablets, skin cancer screening resources, and anticipated colorectal screening resources. The agreement amount discussed during the meeting was $6,451.70 and the program will primarily operate through reimbursement mechanisms.
