Kalkaska County re-affirms budget resolution, approves nearly $3M in bills and payroll

The Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 17 re-affirmed Budget Resolution 2025-29 and approved a set of budget amendments and payments as part of its regular meeting.
A motion by Commissioner David Comai to re-affirm Budget Resolution 2025-29, with corrections on pages 1, 2 and 4, carried on a recorded roll call vote. Separately, Commissioner Robert Baldwin moved to approve Budget Amendments 2025-063 through 2025-066, which the board adopted. The board also approved post-approved bills totaling $2,982,106.35, payroll #23 of $219,737.92 and payroll #24 of $231,910.80, plus commissioner per-diem and salary payments totaling $4,340.00.
County Administrator/CFO Patrick Whiteford told the board that General Fund figures would be included in the January finance report and that he and Accountant Hervey have been working on the journal entries and amendments. The motions passed on roll call votes recorded in the minutes; present commissioners voted unanimously in favor of the motions noted in the record.
The re-affirmation and the amendments are administrative steps ahead of the calendar year; the board recorded that the Treasurer will submit depository nominations in January and that follow-up information on some items will be provided at the January meetings.
