Board hears Kruger Boulevard ribbon-cutting update; wastewater pump issue must be fixed before Strat 3 closing

The Hutto Economic Development Corporation heard an update Dec. 8 on the Spine Road project, now officially named Kruger Boulevard, and was told that one outstanding wastewater pump issue must be resolved before the city council will accept the infrastructure and staff can complete the Strat 3 contract.
At the start of the meeting the economic director summarized recent activity, saying the Nov. 21 ribbon-cutting and naming ceremony had gone well and that "the only outstanding item now is related to wastewater" and that per the city engineer there are "some persisting pump issues that should be resolved within the next couple weeks with plans to take that infrastructure to city council for acceptance in January," after which the Strat 3 contract can close.
Board members asked follow-up questions about project sequencing and timing; staff indicated they expect a short timeline for the final corrective work and will bring the infrastructure acceptance to city council in January. The board did not take formal action on the item beyond receiving the report. The director also highlighted related outreach and BRE activity at Innovation Business Park and work with Wilco EDP on water and electric planning.
The report underscores that Kruger Boulevard is substantially complete but that closing associated economic-development steps depends on resolving a discrete wastewater/pump problem and securing council acceptance.
