The Sweetwater County commissioners approved a retail liquor license for 3 74 Liquor LLC on Jan. 6, after the applicant submitted a revised application addressing prior questions about hours and the license's intended use. Clerk Cindy Swinson accepted the updated application into the record and confirmed the proposed hours of operation as Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
During the reconvened hearing commissioners pressed the applicant on whether he intended to use an existing license at another bar or to acquire and resell a license. The applicant responded that the existing license pertains to a separate space and that the new location is intended as an online wine and liquor store with approximately 2,000 square feet of shipping/warehouse space. Commissioner Taylor C. Jones said the revised application "answers the questions and the concerns that people had and puts them to rest." Commissioner Eileen Richards moved to approve the license and the board voted unanimously to do so.
The board noted the retail license category is subject to per‑capita restrictions based on the last census and that the Jamestown area has one remaining retail slot within a five‑mile radius. The approval was limited to the application presented and included agreed stipulations recorded in the file.
