Keaton d West was re‑elected chair of the Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners on Jan. 6, 2026, after Commissioner Eileen Richards nominated him and Commissioner Mary Toman moved election by acclamation. The board voted unanimously to approve West as chair for 2026.
The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and confirmation of a five‑member quorum. After routine roll‑call and a brief review of the packet, the commission approved the meeting agenda without objection. "If you've had a chance to review the agenda and you have no questions or corrections, I'd entertain a motion for approval," West said before the unanimous vote.
The election and agenda approval set the schedule for the day's business, which included several license decisions, a presentation from School District No. 2 and a WYDOT STIP briefing. The board recessed briefly during the meeting to address streaming issues and resumed work approximately 10:40 a.m.
