Turner principals preview Veterans Day events, testing plans; superintendent notes driver’s-ed accident

During the Nov. 10 Turner Board meeting, school principals and the superintendent gave routine reports on school activities, testing and safety.
The high school principal said Veterans Day observances were scheduled for the next day, starting with breakfast and an assembly at 9:30 a.m., noted that basketball season had started, and reported that FCCLA attended an OSU event in Stillwater. The principal also said administrators discussed ACT, SAT and ASVAB testing and are considering vape detectors and a summer review of the district’s drug-and-alcohol policy.
The elementary report recorded roughly 80% (transcribed as 'B3o/o') parent-teacher conference attendance, successful fall-carnival and field trips to a Hay Maze and Pumpkin Patch, the return of end-of-year state testing, and staff adjustments after Gwen Weaver moved to the Superintendent’s building. In the superintendent report, officials noted a small driver’s-ed accident and that teachers will be asked to produce classroom wish lists.
