WRD reports on Hoplin–McLaughlin complaint and Koenig lawsuit motion for dismissal

Board attorney Sean Fredricks provided an update on the Hoplin vs. McLaughlin drainage complaint. The District signed a letter outlining commitments: provide inspection services during a proposed clean-out to ensure compliance with Moore Engineering's report, offer those services at no expense if the parties execute an agreement, and refrain from assessing either party for costs incurred to date if they resolve the matter in writing. If the parties cannot reach agreement, Fredricks said the Board may need to take formal action on the complaint.
Fredricks also reported there is a motion for dismissal filed on behalf of the District in the Koenig lawsuit. No further action or vote on either legal matter was recorded at the July 7 meeting.
