Commission rezones property to bring nonconforming parcel into compliance (Ordinance 659)
Summary
A parcel created by an earlier split was determined to be nonconforming; the commission approved Ordinance 659 to rezone the property from RR-5 to RR-20 (a 0.5-acre zone) to allow the existing home to remain eligible for rebuild permits.

The commission approved Ordinance 659 to rezone a parcel from RR-5 to RR-20 to resolve an illegal-parcel issue so the existing home can meet zoning requirements for rebuilding if necessary.
Scott Lyons said the house was constructed in the 1970s and the parcel split in 1984 created an illegal parcel; the planning commission held a public hearing and recommended approval while adding language that this rezone is intended only to bring this property into compliance and not to set precedent for broader changes. Commissioner Bingham moved to approve Ordinance 659; Commissioner Perry seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.
