Commission approves rezone to MGEX near Exit 12 with access conditions

The planning commission reviewed public testimony and recommended approval with the condition that the future conditional-use permit restrict the operation's access to Exit 12 and the interstate because the smaller county road is not suited for increased heavy loads or truck traffic. Lyons said adjacent property owners and planning commission members raised no opposition during the planning hearing.
Commissioner Perry moved to approve Ordinance 657 with the planning commission's conditions (access limited to Exit 12 and interstate). The motion was seconded and carried. Commissioners noted they would expect the conditional-use permit process to set operational specifics and traffic limitations.
