Trustees discussed whether board members would attend the California School Boards Association (CSBA) County Board Services conference in Monterey (Sept. 5'7). Staff noted registration cost ($699) and potential travel/hotel expenses, and that the conference agenda includes general sessions and breakout workshops relevant to county-board roles.
The motion to reimburse board members who choose to attend passed on a roll-call vote. "This item, of course, is about reimbursing should you go," staff said. Board members discussed coordinating attendance to avoid duplicative sessions and to ensure coverage of priority workshops.
Staff confirmed the expense is budgeted and that the office can assist with hotel reservations and coordination if multiple trustees plan to attend.
