County office explains local indicators as board adopts SBCEO LCAP

Associate Superintendent Bridget Bobless walked the board through county-level local indicators and how they feed into the statewide California School Dashboard. She said local indicators are self-reported measures that sit alongside statewide metrics (for example, assessments, chronic absenteeism and suspension rates) and are incorporated into the county’s LCAP metrics. "So our LCAP is actually sent up to the California Department of Education. They are our reviewers and approvers," Bobless said, describing the review and reporting cycle.
Following the informational presentations, the board considered action items. Board member Walker moved to adopt the Santa Barbara County Education Office 2025–26 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The motion was seconded and the board voted; the chair announced, "That motion carries." Later, the board also moved to adopt the 2025–26 county school service fund budget; after a voice vote the chair announced that motion carries and recorded no abstentions.
