Goldsmith argued that his Nextdoor profile and community postings did not equate to holding out as a licensed contractor and cited state legislation he said limited local licensing in some scopes. The magistrate admitted certain exhibits but excluded others (Yelp materials tied to a null‑processed citation), dismissed citations CLB‑CT24‑00286 and CLB‑CT24‑00287, and allowed the county to reissue and set another date for citation CLB‑CT24‑00456 to give the defense time to review new materials. Goldsmith said he will contest the remaining citation and requested copies of witness statements and evidence from the county.
