The Kay County Board of County Commissioners approved a slate of routine agreements and financial actions at its June 1 meeting in Newkirk. Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a Detention Services Agreement with ROCMND Area Youth Services, Inc. at $39.20 per day per child and to renew a contract with County Budgeting Services, LLC to prepare county financial statements and the Estimate of Needs for 2026–2027; Clerk Tammy Reese said the cost "increased by 3%" and "the annual cost went from $7,800 to $8,100."
The board also approved a reimbursement from the State for the Election Board Secretary’s May 2026 salary and passed three resolutions to deposit funds: Res#26-133 for $12,265.30 (FEMA DR 4438 OW 652 — Dry, Fork, Earth, & Peckham Rd.), Res#26-134 for $40,000.00 (CIRB D#2 road maintenance repair agreement), and Res#26-135 for $5,351.65 (sale of scrap metals; correction from the agenda amount). Commissioners subsequently approved payroll verifications for May 2026, maintenance and operation claims, and blanket purchase orders. Details for claims and purchase orders were presented to the board and are available in the County Clerk’s Office.
