The Board of County Commissioners voted April 6 to approve an early reimbursement request from the Comanche County Detention Center to cover maintenance and operations for April 2026. Commissioners said the request would ordinarily be submitted in early May but was advanced after a recent discussion with state auditors.
Commissioner Josh Powers moved the reimbursement, which the board approved unanimously. Minutes record that the funds will come from the Use Tax Fund and are not being requested for repayment.
The motion was presented as an administrative fiscal action to ensure the detention center’s monthly operations are funded on an adjusted schedule; the board did not record any dissent or conditions attached to the payment.
