The Nixa City Council on July 28 approved a $266,723.34 amendment to the 2026 annual budget to cover expenses tied to the Forest Heights Sewer Repair Project.
Justin Orf, who presented the item, said the emergency repair work was largely completed in 2025 and the amendment reflects only the amounts expensed in 2026. "The total amount for the project was $602,973, with the majority of that being completed in 2025," Orf said. Staff recommended approval to reconcile the 2026 budget with the actual invoicing and remaining site restorative work.
Councilors moved, seconded and approved the amendment on a roll-call vote. The ordinance was described by staff as the final accounting step for the multi-phase repair; no public speakers addressed this item during the hearing.
