Road projects update: chip sealing, fog-seal quote and $1 million potential bridge contribution

Showers reported that, weather permitting, the county's chip-sealing work should finish by the end of the week and provided a quote of $57,028 for a fog-seal project; the board took no immediate action on the fog-seal because bids are not due until July 10, 2026.
KLJ Engineer Matt Lange reported that only minor finishing work remains on the Climax Bridge project and that Bridge 114A is expected to be completed within the next month. Lange said Norman County was awarded grant funding for three bridge projects and that Traill County has agreed to contribute up to $1,000,000 toward those projects; Highway Superintendent Corwyn Martin advised the board the county will need to set aside funds over the next three years to cover its share.
