Finance staff told the CPMT on June 25 that the FY27 Virginia Budget includes a 2.5% cap on private day educational placement increases, pending the Governor’s approval. Amy Sylvia, finance manager, said seven private day schools that Hanover youth attend currently have rates exceeding the 2.5% limit; Faison’s rates were reported as the highest among those providers.
Brady Nemeyer said OCS will release an official FY27 list of maximum private day special education reimbursement rates and that CSA staff will reach out to vendors to negotiate lower rates if possible. CPMT members agreed they would not disrupt current placements as a result of financial increases.
