Cass County and Pillager School District agree to transportation procedures for students in foster care

Administrator Joshua Stevenson presented an agreement with Pillager School District ISD 116 that spells out how transportation to a student’s school of origin will be provided, arranged and funded when it is in a foster child’s best interest. Stevenson said the agreement is intended to comply with the Every Student Succeeds Act and the Fostering Connections Act and that the County’s goal is to ensure the least amount of disruption possible for affected students.
Commissioner Neal Gaalswyk moved to approve the Cass County–Pillager School District Transportation Procedure Agreement for students living in foster care; Rick Haaland seconded and the Board approved the agreement unanimously. The agreement is effective as of the dates specified in the contract and assigns responsibilities for arrangements and funding between the district and county.
