County approves $57,838 camera‑system server upgrade to expand storage and retention

Central Services Director Tom Buhl described a capital improvement to replace the server that controls and stores data for the County's 104 security cameras. He said the project updates server hardware, the operating system, and application software and increases storage to support longer data retention and future expansion. "The project includes upgrading the server hardware, operating system, and application software, while increasing storage capacity to accommodate future system expansion and provide longer data retention," Buhl said.
Buhl told the Board that two hardware options were evaluated and he recommended the more cost‑effective option that meets software requirements despite rising hardware costs. Because the total cost rose above the originally budgeted $50,000, the Board reviewed the business case and approved a $57,838 contract with ElectroWatchman, Inc. for the upgrade.
