Planning staff briefed the commission on pending development activity in Elgin and noted schedule changes: the commission's next meeting will be Sept. 14 rather than the first Monday because of the Labor Day holiday.
Staff said the 7 Brew project is expected to be ready for the next meeting, a proposed lot split on Logan Avenue is scheduled for city council next week, and an application for 968 Dundee liquor store may be forthcoming. Staff also reported that the Evil Intentions haunted-house application received final zoning approval from council and that the city recently received another industrial application along Airport Road proposing subdivision for light industrial uses.
Commissioners asked a clarifying question about whether the haunted-house item had passed city council; staff confirmed it had and that the applicant must now pursue permits.
