CSB begins FY2028 budget planning; Credible EHR retained for now
Summary
County finance staff said FY2028 planning must start early to identify capital projects and staffing; the CSB will keep using the Credible electronic health record for the near term, and the CSB pays an additional fee to retain ownership of its data if it switches vendors.

Committee members were told that FY2028 budget planning is already under way because major capital projects, staffing needs and service improvements must be identified in advance. When Chair Ed Gooding asked why planning for FY2028 had begun while FY2027 had just started, Bernie Jordan explained the County's budget development timeline and said tools under consideration include online payment options for customers.
Mary Butler Eggleston asked specifically about the CSB's electronic health record. Jordan told the committee that "Credible continues to meet the agency’s current needs" and that replacement or enhancement remains in the five‑year budget plan. He added that if the CSB transitions away from Credible it pays an additional fee to retain ownership of its data, and staff will evaluate any replacement carefully before moving forward.
