The Nobles County Board voted Oct. 21 to appoint Kate Hill to the EMPAC committee to fill a Public Health vacancy on the board. The minutes state Hill was hired by Nobles County this summer as a Public Health Specialist and that the EMPAC term runs Jan. 1, 2024 through Dec. 2026.
Commissioner Robert S. Demuth moved the appointment and Commissioner Chris Dybevick seconded; the motion to appoint Kate Hill was duly passed. County staff framed the appointment as a way to provide an information conduit between Nobles County Public Health and the EMPAC committee. No objections or alternate nominees were recorded in the minutes.
The appointment fills a currently open Public Health seat on EMPAC; the minutes note that public-body term notifications are provided to the commissioners when appointments are available to fill in the future.
